Cats Can't Fly
Teaching Children to Value New Friendships
RELEASING JUNE 2012
by P.J. Neer, Ph.D.
illustrated by Benjamin Gazsi
Matilda is a young tabby cat who recently arrived at Meadow Green Stables. She is determined to make friends with an older cat named Socks and tries to impress him without success. One night she decides to climb up high on the rafters above the horse stalls, to show Socks she is as brave and skilled as he is.
However, once she gets up there, she freezes in fear. Socks can’t find her and asks the horses for help. Will they be able to bring Matilda down safely? Will she gain the respect she has been seeking? Cats Can’t Fly is a heartwarming look at how we show affection for others in many different ways.
