The Oregon City Girls

by Linda O'Neil, Philip Tennyson & Rick Watson

Oregon City, the onetime capital of the Oregon Territory, is located approximately 13 miles south of Portland, Oregon.  While rich in history and culture, it also hid a deep, dark, deadly secret...

On January 9, 2002, twelve-year-old Ashley Pond sets off for school and simply vanishes.  Two months later, her best friend, Miranda Gaddis, also disappears from the same spot on her way to school.

Two Months, Two Girls and No Clues

Local authorities are baffled; they suspect foul play, but with no clues nor evidence to support their suspicions, they are stymied.

Are they runaways, or victims?

The close-knit community is in an uproar, parents are afraid to let children out of their sight.  Gripped by fear and frustrated by the lack of progress made by local authorities, Linda O'Neil, Ashley Pond's step-grandmother and a Private Investigator, begins her own investigation that leads to exposure of the evil lurking in their minds.

Missing: The Oregon City Girls, is the riveting and heart-wrenching true story that made headlines around the world - of two young girls who vanished on their way to school and the private investigator who carefully pieced together the fragile clues left behind to unearth the shattering truth.

Linda O'Neil is the step-grandmother of Ashley Pond and was the lead private investigator during the case.  She has taught several courses on criminal and legal procedure at The College of Legal Arts.

Philip Tennyson is a documentary filmmaker and author.  He has written two previous books, Getting Started and Living to 110.  O'Neil and Tennyson are married and live in the Portland, Oregon area.

Rick Watson has worked in law enforcement and is the author of several screenplays.  He lives in Eastern Washington State with his wife, two cats and a bird named Billie Jean.
