Forgiving and Forging Sibling Relationships
by Cathy Jo Cress, MSW,
and Kali Cress Peterson, MS, MPA
Anybody with a brother or sister knows that sibling relationships can be difficult at times. What happens when brothers and sisters wound each other emotionally? Is there any way they can overcome these problems in adulthood?
Mom Loves You Best: Forgiving and Forging Sibling Relationships offers a proven prescriptive plan for helping siblings forgive past wounds from destructive relationships and forge better sibling relationships for the present and future. In this insightful guide, Cathy Jo Cress, MSW, and daughter Kali Cress Peterson, MS, MPA, reveal the findings of their decades of expertise for effectively dealing with the struggles associated with siblings.
With practical, step-by-step instructions, the authors provide key information for uncovering long-festering problems between siblings and resolving them, thus reestablishing new, meaningful relationships with each other. The Midlife-Sibling System for Forgiveness is a valuable tool for siblings who have grown up and out of each others’ lives to forgive misunderstandings and problems of years past. It also shows how to forgive oneself and others in order to forge sibling relationships in adulthood. In addition, the book deals with how young parents handle the interaction of siblings in their own families and how siblings can cooperate to care for aging parents.
Mom Loves You Best is the essential guide for overcoming destructive sibling relationships and reconnecting with family members.
