Healing Journeys
How Trauma Survivors Learn to Live Again

by Linda Daniels, Psy.D.

A car accident, severe illness, murder, natural disaster, terrorist attack or even a global conflict can thrust anyone into a downward spiral of depression. Major trauma can send one reeling out of control.

Now, there is an answer to the extreme anxiety that this dangerous world dishes out. Dr. Linda Daniels, an American Academy board-certified expert in traumatic stress and a World Trade Center tragedy survivor, reveals coping techniques that have helped many victims and families struck by tragedy begin to heal. "Resilience Tips" reveal strategies that help survivors on a day-to-day basis.

Counselor to hundreds of trauma survivors, families of victims and survivors and countless others, Dr. Daniels reveals their struggles with depression and despair and the most successful aids and treatments.

Healing Journeys reveals how people who have been dealt death blows can recover and live happy, healthy lives again. This book helps those recovering from Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome and is a must have for everyone living with fear and anxiety during these tumultuous times.

Linda Daniels, Psy.D., an American Academy board-certified expert in traumatic stress and a clinical faculty member at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, directed a Crisis Counseling Center in the immediate aftermath of the World Trade Center tragedy and has counseled and followed over two hundred survivors beyond the first-year anniversary. A survivor herself, she has conducted dozens of Critical Incident Stress Management group debriefings and provided hundreds of one-on-one sessions. Before September 11, Dr. Daniels served as the Chief Psychologist in the Office of Medical Services for the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey. She currently lives in New York City and has a private practice in Queens.
