Building a Championship Family
Coaching Kids’ Values and Instilling Character
by Gary Dehrer, M.Ed.
In the fast-paced world of the 21st Century, both parents and children find themselves moving from one activity to the next with little time in between. Lost in these moments are the ability and skills for parents to coach and shape their children’s character, an important value for building strong families and strong futures.
In Building A Championship Family, Gary Dehrer guides parents on how to influence the positive growth of their children’s characters and relationships. Using a unique combination of advice and activities, he shows families how to interact more and experience values that are important to building children’s characters. The book features 24 fundamental values, each giving a lesson designed to coach children followed by an activity that applies to the value.
Stressing classic American values such as honesty, patriotism, loyalty, respect, integrity and the pursuit of happiness, Dehrer shows parents how to teach their children to focus on character values through some exciting exercises that make learning fun.
Children will become motivated to participate in family activity planning, communicate with each other, build stronger relationships, define goals and find motivation, while parents will see a change and improvement in their children and their family’s dynamics.
