Breadwinner Wives and the Men They Marry
How to Have A Successful Marriage While
Outearning Your Husband
by Randi Minetor
Nearly one in three working wives nationwide is paid more than her husband, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. These wives face a tidal wave of social mores, media judgments and societal pressures that can turn their financial and professional success into a sea of contradictions.
Now, advertising executive, writer and researcher Randi Minetor, herself a breadwinning wife for the past ten years, has interviewed 120 people in breadwinning wife unions across America and provides a navigational tool for these uncharted waters.
This illuminating, provocative book delves into the differences in financial decision making, division of household chores, responsibility for childcare and the topsy-turvy gender dynamics between husbands and wives in this new relationship.
Loaded with anecdotes from happy marriages and those on the rocks, the book offers unique insights, thoughtful comparisons and useful advice to an entirely negelecte population who have tackled a new kind of marriage amid the stress of contemporary life.
