It was just another day down by the lake for young Tommy and his herd of green-colored, plant eating Triceratops. That is, until a family of striped T-Tops tries to drink from their watering hole and are quickly chased off by Thor, the bullish leaders of Tommy’s herd, because they look different from them.

After seeking the advice of the herd’s wise old leader, who suggests that the striped T-Tops should have been greeted more diplomatically by asking them questions instead of scaring them off, Tommy and his friend Billy go against the rules and venture away from the adults in search of the uniquely-colored dinosaurs. That is, until they happen upon a hungry T-Rex, who has them trapped before a most unexpected hero comes to their rescue.

Tommy and the T-Tops is a story aimed at teaching children that we must value people not by appearance but by their character. This book has also a poignant subplot that touches upon the issues of global warming and saving the environment.

Frederick Alimonti is an attorney practicing aviation law and an author of adult and children’s fiction. Ann M. Tedesco, Ph.D. is a psychologist and executive coach. Rick and Ann live with their three children in Armonk, New York.

John Hazard is an animator for the Nickelodeon network and its website and draws the newspaper strip Schmooze or Lose. A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, John currently lives in Manhattan.
