Deadly Deception
A True Story of Duplicity, Greed, Dangerous Passions and One
Woman's Courage

by Brenda Gunn and Shannon Richardson

To Brenda Gunn, a hardworking medical professional, it seems like a fairytale come true. The quiet, handsome man who sweeps her off feet wants to marry her. At first, despite his clashes with her best friend and the questions raised by her sister and brother, Brenda's life is idyllic. The newlyweds settle into a new home a plan a family. But what begins as a storybook romance quickly becomes an unstoppable horror.

Brenda's husband Glen is wildly erratic and leaves the house at odd times. Brenda confides in her best friend that either she is going crazy or Glen is having an affair. Her friend replies that despite her original qualms, Glen seems to love Brenda.

But in the weeks that follow, the terror in Brenda's life increases. An eccentric client stalks her day and night. Alone in her house, she smells smoke and is almost engulfed in a raging inferno. Later, Brenda becomes deathly ill from a dinner Glen prepares. Then, one evening Brenda picks up the phone to hear her husband and an indistinguishable woman plotting to kill someone with a large insurance policy. Brenda is sure the person is her.

With her personal life unraveling, the police unwilling to step in and the killers growing bolder, Brenda is locked in a downward spiral of violence that moves toward a startling dramatic collision.

Brenda Gunn, a registered medical professional, received her training from Kansas City Medical and Dental College. When she was eighteen, she wrote and published Sweden Shoes and Breath of Ballet, two stage plays. An avid animal lover, she cares for abused and neglected pets and raises rare and exotic animals.
